Established the Westmoreland County Land Bank
- Established the first of its kind in the region, to acquire and cleanup abandoned or tax delinquent properties to help revitalize communities and return properties to the local tax rolls.
Founded the Westmoreland Land Trust
- Initiated to help preserve areas of special interest (ecological, recreational or historical) throughout Westmoreland County.
Created the Westmoreland Demolition Fund
- Initiated the Westmoreland Demolition Fund to help remediate blight and redevelop communities.
Founded the Drug Overdose Task Force
- The Drug Overdose Task Force was created to confront the opioid epidemic and develop a comprehensive framework to curb overdose deaths that includes treatment, education and outreach, and legislative and criminal justice reforms.
Led “Reimagining Westmoreland” Comprehensive Plan
- "Reimagining Westmoreland” is an update to the county’s Comprehensive Plan to address the challenges facing the county, including workforce demands, demographics and downtown redevelopment.
Helped bring thousands of jobs to Westmoreland County
- Achieved through the renovation and rehabilitation of the former SONY plant (now RIDC Westmoreland), the creation of the Commerce Crossing industrial park and the acquisition, demolition and remediation of the former Jeannette Glass site.
Expanded the county’s Tourism Program and Improved parks and recreation
- Developed new resources for the county’s tourism industry to promote and enhance tourist attractions, and to recruit visitors and new residents. Also worked with the private sector and philanthropic community to enhance the network of county parks, adding the first-ever fully-inclusive playground for children with disabilities, two dog parks, and a skate and sledding area.
Saved Westmoreland Manor
- Recruited new leadership, invested in staff and facilities, and increased marketing to raise the census, revenues and reputation.
Upgraded the county’s emergency management infrastructure
- Improved the county's emergency radio communication system and incorporated a new mobile command post to aid emergency response.
Made Arnold Palmer Regional Airport an important driver of economic development
- Achieved through a strategic investment and partnership with Spirt Airlines.
Fought against waste, corruption, outsourcing and no-bid contracts
- Ended the wasteful, ineffective outsourcing of the county's human resources Department and other no-bid contracts.
Served as Economic Development Consultant for Governor Tom Wolf
- Helped businesses and manufacturers grow to create and retain jobs throughout the Commonwealth.
Member of Transition Team for Governor Tom Wolf and Governor Josh Shapiro
- Worked with stakeholders statewide to develop priorities and programs for human services, with a special emphasis on better serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and growing the direct care workforce to best serve families with special needs.
